Northern Ontario
Muskoka:
There are an amazing amount of places within the Muskoka area to plan your elopement. It is filled with the most beautiful lakes, provincial parks, waterfalls and rivers, not to mention some of the sweetest little off the grid cabins, unique and beautiful AirBnb’s, and intimate venues to host your day. You could consider an adventurous provincial park elopement, a hike or canoe out to somewhere unique, renting a cabin, or finding a spaces by the lake to say I do! Intimate Muskoka wedding venues like the Northridge Inn, Windermere House, Clevelands House, Port Cunnington Lodge, or the Portage Inn are some of the most awesome I’ve seen and the staff there are incredible. Algonquin & Area:
Our largest provincial park, and one of the most beautiful spots to explore. This too has a beautiful mixture of vast lakes, cozy cabins, beaches, camp sites and incredible lookouts to hike up to. Consider renting a cabin, or a camp site and making a weekend out of your elopement or intimate wedding day. Algonquin has a number of Summer Camps that can host up to 100 of your closest loved ones for a unique and relaxed way to say I do; Arrowhon Pines and Camp Tamakwa being some of our favourites! Nearby are the towns of Huntsville, Lake of Bays, Dorset and Baysville, which all include so many amazing spaces to hike, relax, canoe, swim and say yesss we do within them.
Parry Sound:
We called a dreamy little a-frame on Whitestone Lake in Parry Sound home every summer and long weekend since we were little babes, and this place is so much of what home is to me. Within the Parry Sound area, there are intimate spaces for weddings like AirBnb cabins on the lake, little islands we can boat out to, and some of the most beautiful provincial parks like Killbear, Oastler Lake, and Massassauga Provincial Parks. Killbear has some of the most incredible sunsets I’ve seen, as the sun dips just over the beautiful island and rock outcroppings of Georgian Bay. So much to choose from!
Georgian Bay:
Speaking of beautiful Georgian Bay, the places to plan an adventurous elopement here are endless. From the quaint and beautiful islands of Honey Harbour, to the beautiful sand dunes of Tiny Township, the Moon River to Awenda Provincial Park, the beauty here is magical. Awenda’s beaches look like something out of the Caribbean, and make the perfect spot to host an intimate number of loved ones to witness your vows.
Tobermory & The Bruce Peninsula:
A walk through the pine filled forest opens up to the most amazing views, crystal clear water the colour of the sky, cliffs to hike, and grottos to swim in – this places is pure magic and the first time I saw it I couldn’t believe it was Ontario! Southern/Western Ontario
Niagara-On-the-Lake:
The quaint little town of Niagara-On-the-Lake is home to so many beautiful spots to host your intimate wedding or elopement. From bed and breakfasts and romantic restaurants, to bloom filled fields and Sunset Beach, traveling out this way is always a favourite of ours.
Eastern Ontario
Prince Edward County:
Check out Sandbanks Provincial park, as well as the Drake Devonshire on the edge of the lake. The June Motel, or 100 Acre Wood & Compass Rose Suites with their dreamy little greenhouse. The White Chapel in Picton, to Fields on West Lake. I think PEC is one of the most beautiful and unique places in Ontario for that quaint and beautiful intimate wedding or elopement in Ontario.
Bon Echo Provincial Park:
One of our gorgeous Provincial Parks, Bon Echo is home to Mazinaw Lake and the jaw dropping cliff views from one of it’s many beaches. Kawartha Lakes / Kawartha Highlands / Bobcaygeon:
The Kawarthas are home to so many amazing nooks, it’s called the land of lakes for a reason – it’s full to the brim with beautiful, clear lakes, tall pines and just so much magic. *We are such big fans of Hawaii and have traveled there almost every year since we met 8 big ones ago!
